I guess I shouldn't complain about not getting out and doing stuff. Last night Kitty and I headed out to the zoo for one of their Summer Friday Night concerts. In fact it was this concert that spurred us on to get our zoo memberships because it saved a few bucks. It's not that big of a deal since tickets were only $10 to begin with. We have gone to a few of these concerts. They're a lot of fun because you can pack a picnic dinner and enjoy the show as well as see the animals. The act we saw was the Verve Pipe which had a hit album "Villains" in the 90's. It was one of my favorite cds of the day. It produced a few hits including "The Freshmen" which still gets airplay on classic alternative stations. They put out a follow-up cd which didn't do very well (but I still bought it) and then they sort of faded into obscurity. They did a song for some minor movie and then turned their attention into making kids records where they found a new following. I found some of their later works and they definitely shifted focus from rock to pop. That being said, their pop stuff was brilliant. I don't know if I would buy a cd, but I certainly would rip songs from YouTube. Here's an example of some of their kids stuff. This was how I discovered "Wolf and Sheep" yesterday since it was done by the same animator.

I heard this song twice and it instantly became an ear worm for me. See! Pop music brilliance!
